Labor unions have been receiving a great deal of press in the U.S. recently, despite seemingly waning popularity with the country's youngest workers. At one major university, graduate student teaching and research assistants are protesting the school's decision to end its relationship with the union. Recent efforts to unionize the U.S.'s approximately 1.2 million workers at Wal-Mart have failed thus far but have received considerable attention. Some information technology workers are considering starting a union to stem the tide of jobs being moved offshore.
