U.S. Set for Hiring Boom in '06
|
CHICAGO -- The U.S. job market will keep improving next year, with big gains in financial services, technology, healthcare and energy, a consultant said.
Global outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc. said Monday that the U.S. economy would grow by as many as 1.3 million jobs in 2006.
"A return to a late 1990s-style hiring frenzy may be only a matter of time," said a spokesman.
"There is already soaring demand for the top talent, as evidenced by Google's recent full-page ad in the Sunday New York Times business section, inviting 'the brightest minds in sales management' to apply for positions with the company."
U.S. employers have added more than 4 million jobs since November 2003. More than 1.7 million jobs have been added this year, the firm said. back
